about coloring the line art ... sometimes when the black lines are thick they remain black and you can't color them ? ... is there any settings for this ?

That sounds weird...are you sure the lines you color are in the same locked layer?

Oh, that's great then!
Lasso tool is great too, but I often find it hard to control. Pen Tool is easy to adjust, unlike lasso.

When I stroke a path made with my pen tool on Photoshop two of the ends are faded instead of connecting how do I get rid of this fading effect?

It's because of your brush settings! ^^

Hello ^_^
First of all i would like to thank you for your tutorials they helped me a lot
I wanted to ask you one question if you know of course:
Is there a way to make a line which has the simulate pressure applied only on one side and not both? I mean start the line in the width of your brush regularly but end it in the smooth way that simulate pressure gives you in the end of that line...

Oooh don't worry, you will learn everything by practise ;)
I've been practising for 5 years now ;) It's not an easy programm after all, so don't sulk, cheer up and practise ;)
if you fing out how you did that 'mistake' please inform us, it will be a major help :D

I know what you mean, but no, I don't think so. You have to make a path and CLOSE it with pen-tool to make something that looks like what you describe!

I'm glad it helped you!! Do ask if you have more questions!

i still don't understand how you use the pen tool or the anchor...
i have no photoshop reference, so when i try to use the anchor thingi, it always bends the wrong way T.T

Ah, I'm sorry to hear that! :( Well, pen-tool IS hard to use in the beginning! I admit that!
You just have to practice I'm afraid! ;_;
Try browsing youtube for a pen-tool tutorial!

But how do i use the anchor tool? .-. once it worked then when i tried again her hair shade goes to her face and she looks like avatar(i had no idea how that happened XDD)

nah its fine, its not your fault. Its mine for being stupid :iconsulkplz:

photoshop PLEASE cooperate with me for once XC

oh and you wrote 'stimulate pressure" or something. what is that? .-.
Reply
:iconnjung:
NJung Featured By Owner Dec 16, 2012  Hobbyist Digital Artist
It's because of your settings I suppose. You have to put your settings to "Path" not "Shape Layers" when using pen-tool.

"Simulate pressure" is what makes the brush-stroke curved in the ends, instead of straight. That what makes the highlight in the hair look "shine-like".

I hope that helped!
